Salt Lake County Democratic Party Executive Committee

The Salt Lake County Democratic Party Executive Committee is made up of volunteers who meet bi-weekly to help plan the Direction of the Party. The entire Executive Committee was elected at the 2013 Organizing Convention and will serve a two-year term.

Bios

Quang Dang – First Vice Chair

Quang Dang (aka Q.) is the owner of a QTech, LLC.  where he works with visually impaired veterans and assist them to become more independent and maintain a quality of life though the use of the computer.  He customizes curriculum materials and in-home training to meet the needs of each veteran client.

Q. became actively involved in politics because of HB477 and strongly believes in transparent and open government.  Because of his work he was awarded the Roy B. Gibson Freedom of Information Award – The Society of Professional Journalists.  He has worked on many campaigns, including Mayor Ben McAdams’ in 2012.

Q. came to Utah in 1975 as a Vietnamese refugee and currently lives in the Millcreek area.  He and his wife, Abby, have two kids, a 10 year old daughter and 6 year old son.

Joey Pitt- Executive Director

Joey Pitt comes from a long line of Democrats in Utah and is excited to serve as the Executive Director of the Salt Lake County Democratic Party. He is looking forward to working with the people of the county and helping promote causes and individuals that will benefit the area.

Joey has served in several positions including as a Correspondence Associate at the White House, a Legislative Intern for the Utah Senate, and most recently as a Deputy Field Director and then as the Finance Director for Ben McAdams’ campaign for Salt Lake County Mayor.

He and his wife Angie were recently married and are enjoying their new life together.
